Double Vision
The Twins Days Festival in Twinsburg, Ohio is billed as the largest annual gathering of twins in the world. Starting in 1976 and continuing every year since (with the exception of 2020), twins and multiples have descended on this small suburban community to celebrate the uniqueness of twins.
I’ve long been drawn to projects that explore identity and the ways we create communities that embrace our specific interests and worldviews. Twins Days marks an especially rare form of community - one that transcends race, gender, and nationality, but that you must be born into. Through this prism, the event offers a glimpse inside a kind of quirky secret society filled with colorful characters and a rich history.
